Des entreprises iraniennes ont lancé la construction du tunnel de Kajaran, long de 7,2 kilomètres, en Arménie. Comptant parmi les projets d’infrastructure les plus complexes du Caucase, ce tunnel s’intégrera au corridor de transport nord-sud, reliant l’Iran à l’Arménie, à la Géorgie et aux ports de la mer Noire.
Une fois achevé, ce projet offrira à Téhéran un itinéraire plus court vers la région de la mer Noire et les marchés européens, réduisant ainsi sa dépendance vis-à-vis des autres voies de transit.
